Rescue Help Needed on Mississippi River


Sommer L'Hoste posted this photo on Facebook from her mother-in-law, Linda L'Hoste, requesting help. She and 40-50 others are stranded on the Mississippi River levee at the ferry landing in Braithwaite, Plaquemines Parish, Highway 39. "They are completely surrounded by water awaiting rescue," she writes. "Please get the word out that they need help."


Home Collapses in New Orleans


New Orleans, LA – As Hurricane Isaac pounds the Gulf Coast, it is damaging structures, too. James H. Perry of New Orleans said his home already was in need of repair when it collapsed during heavy winds from Isaac. "My wife and I just bought it to renovate about 30 days ago," he said.
